Introducing Zoey!
Welcome our first intake for 2025! Zoey is approximately 2 years old and currently being treated by the amazing team at Katella Animal Clinic. She continues to have diarrhea and we have not determined the cause as of yet, but it is getting under control with current treatments and dietary changes. We do not have much information about her or her demeanor due to her health issues. A foster home would be the best solution for her to recover in a home verses kenneled at a veterinarian facility. She is sweet and calm, love attention, and just needs an opportunity to feel better, decompress and show us who she is.
Zoey is currently in foster care and getting the time she needs to decompress and show us more of who she is … this is what her foster mom has to say about Zoey!
Zoey, the Sweetest, Gentlest Soul!
Zoey is a bunny-soft, quiet, and loving girl who’s gaining confidence every day now that she feels safe. After a tough time at the shelter and dealing with suspected colitis, she’s blossoming into a happy, playful pup who enjoys exploring the world at her own pace.
Personality & Temperament: Zoey is gentle, sweet, and perfectly content napping near her human. She’s not overly clingy but definitely loves cuddles and being close to those she trusts. She takes time to adjust to new surroundings but settles in beautifully with patience. She prefers fleece vests over raincoats (fashion choice noted!), enjoys slow-feeder bowls, and loves food puzzles.
People & Dogs: She’s initially timid, especially with men, and prefers people to let her come to them rather than receiving immediate affection. But with treats and patience, she warms up quickly! When it comes to other dogs, she’s a social butterfly—she adores playtime, has great manners, and would thrive with a canine companion to boost her confidence.
Training & Routine: Zoey is house-trained, potty-trained, and crate-trained - the golden trio! She’s polite, respects boundaries, and loves soft couches and pillows. Even with her tummy troubles, she lets you know when she needs to go outside. A home with a yard and doggie door to access a potty area would be ideal. She sleeps soundly in her crate at night and enjoys walks every few hours during the day.
Leash Skills: Zoey is great on a leash—she doesn’t pull and enjoys a relaxed pace. She’s eager to greet other dogs but isn’t pushy. Busy streets can initially be overwhelming, but with patience and positive encouragement, she adjusts well.
Zoey is a total sweetheart. Her ideal loving home would be one with a yard and a dog friend to continue building her confidence in a low-stress environment.
Could she be your perfect match?
