Nala

Nala is a 7½-year-old female boxer currently living in Orange. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations except Bordetella, and she may still need to be microchipped. Nala is a very large girl at approximately 115 lbs. Sadly, this is the second time in her life she has needed to be rehomed due to family changes and lack of time for her, absolutely no fault of her own.

Nala is mostly housebroken. She recently transitioned to living primarily outdoors, and since then has occasionally had accidents when brought inside. Prior to that change, she lived indoors without issue. She is crate trained, although it is not her favorite place to be. When left alone too long she can be destructive with her bed.

She walks fairly well on leash overall, but because of her size she can occasionally pull unexpectedly, so she will do best with someone comfortable handling a strong dog. Nala can take a minute to warm up to new people and has not been around children. She has successfully lived with dogs her size and done well. After being bitten by another dog on a walk, she can sometimes seem timid around unfamiliar dogs, so continued positive, controlled socialization would be beneficial.

Nala has also been gentle with the cats she has been around, although the cats generally wanted little to do with her, much to Nala’s disappointment. Her interaction with cats has been limited but with slow, managed interactions she could do well.

Underneath her giant size is a sweet girl looking for stability, patience, and a family committed to giving her the love and consistency she deserves.
