Re-Introducing Harley Jane!

Harley Jane was originally surrendered to WCBR back in February and was placed directly in a wonderful home in Los Angeles.

Her original reason for surrender was that she did not mesh well with the resident male dog.   HJ was then rehomed as an only dog but her reactivity to other dogs proved to be too much for the family as they lived in a very dog friendly urban environment.

Harley Jane’s reactivity threshold is fairly wide and can be managed with an experienced handler.  This pretty girl is a smart cookie and responds well to fair corrections.  She is amazing on the leash and knows how to sit pretty at every corner on command.

HJ is 3 years old,  beautiful flashy brindle and weighs 85 lbs. She has natural ears and a docked tail.  She is wonderful with children, but not so much with cats.  Harley Jane is UTD with all vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and ready to go!

She would thrive in an active home where she can receive both mental and physical enrichment exercises that would keep her nice and ladylike.

(Original bio) Meet Harley Jane, a 3-year-old female Boxer located in the San Jose area. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and weighs approximately 85 lbs.

Harley Jane adores people and children, but needs to be the only dog in her home. She currently lives with a male Boxer but struggles with resource guarding and competing for attention. While she has been around chickens, she tends to play too rough, so any future feathered friends should remain safely caged. She is not compatible with cats due to her high prey drive.

This lovable girl is housebroken, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. However, she can become reactive around other large dogs, but responds to commands and collar vibrations to manage her reaction. Harley Jane is used to free roaming a large acreage with an electric fence, which she respects. She knows her commands, including “down-stay,” which is especially useful when visitors arrive, as she may bark and jump at windows upon their arrival.

Harley Jane thrives on her training and knows her commands, loves soft places to lounge (especially laps!), and is looking for a dedicated foster or adopter who can provide a loving, structured home. Please reach out to help!

** Please note: West Coast Boxer Rescue does not adopt female dogs to homes that already have a female dog.
