Dexter is a 2½-year-old male Boxer currently located in Moreno Valley. He weighs approximately 55 pounds, is microchipped, and needs to be neutered and brought up to date on his vaccinations.
Dexter is being rehomed because he has developed food aggression/resource guarding toward the other dog in his home. Outside of mealtimes, he has done well with other dogs. His owner has chosen to rehome him rather than manage the situation.
Dexter walks nicely on a leash and is very friendly with people and children. He has also lived successfully with a cat. Because he has been kept primarily outdoors, he is not crate trained and will likely need some assistance with house training as he adjusts to living indoors.
Dexter still has his soft puppy coat and all the playful Boxer energy that comes with it. He would thrive with a family committed to providing structure, training, regular exercise, and continued socialization.
We are looking for either a committed foster or adopter who can give Dexter the stable, loving home he deserves.
